Agreement

By using Ulamat you agree to these terms. If you use it for a child, you agree on the child's behalf and are responsible for their use.

Accounts

Learning needs an account, created when you first set the app up. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else used your account. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live; younger children may use it only with a parent or guardian.

Acceptable use

Please don't: misuse or overload the service, try to get around security or access other people's data, submit unlawful, hateful or abusive content, upload recordings of other people without their consent, or use the app to mislead others about religious rulings. Community rules for questions and any future community features are in the Community Guidelines.

Religious content

Content is for education. Each item shows its source, and items are marked reviewed only after a named scholar has checked them; items awaiting review are labelled. Rulings come from the named scholars and sources, not from the app. For your own situation, ask a qualified scholar you trust.

The AI checks pronunciation only. It listens to Arabic sounds and can be wrong. It never judges your prayer, your faith or your intentions.

Your content

You keep the rights to what you send us (questions, feedback). You give us permission to use it only to provide the service, for example to have a scholar answer your question. We may publish an answer to a question without your name.

Our content

The app's design, text and code belong to us or our licensors. Quran text, translations, audio and fonts come from third parties under their own licences, listed on the Scholars and Sources page.

Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop features. We will try to give notice of significant changes. The core must-know learning is intended to stay free.

Limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on the content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. TODO: lawyer to review the liability wording for each launch country.

Ending

You can stop using Ulamat at any time and delete your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, after warning where reasonable.

Changes to these terms

We will show a notice in the app when these terms change in a way that matters. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of TODO: country/jurisdiction, and disputes go to the courts of TODO: place, unless the law of your country gives you other rights.
